 Spring and summer scream, “It is time for a pink party!”  That would be “pink” in the form of Rosé wine.  The popularity of Rosé wine has exploded over the past decade in something of a resurgence.  True Rosé wine used to be readily available in our Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores until the advent of “blush” wines from the West Coast in the very late 1970’s and throughout the 1980’s.  “Blush” is generally sweet or semi-sweet bulk wine produced such that it looks like Rosé wine; but, its likeness to Rosé stops with color and bears no resemblance in taste to true Rosé.

True Rosé is generally dry to medium-dry, is loved by both red and white wine drinkers, and seems to pair with just about every possible food.  And, what’s not to like?  Rosé wine is delicious!  The rediscovery of true Rosé wine by American wine consumers began during their travels abroad and, upon returning Stateside, the absence of good Rosé on our retail shelves created an instant demand.  There was actually a period during which this new demand applied pressure on the supply chain until producers could satisfy that need; but, in the current day, we are awash in an abundance of wonderful Rosé wines!

Join us on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time as Kevin Ostrowski leads us through an hour long presentation about everything Rosé!  During his presentation, Kevin will explore some of the more prominent Rosé wine growing regions as we taste their delicious wines.  In addition to its origins, history, and geography of where and how Rosé wine is made, he will also highlight the wide varieties of grapes and the different winemaking methods used to produce this immensely popular genre of wine.
