It is likely that all of us have visited a winery or a number of wineries in various wine regions.  These explorations are tremendous fun!  And, each winery and wine region introduce you to a number of wines from which to draw conclusions.

Virtually every winery makes at least one wine varietal for which it is well known, i.e., its signature wine.  Perhaps they are known for both a red and a white.  Beyond that, every wine region or AVA usually has a reputation for one or several grape varieties on which they have hung the collective hat of the wineries that reside within that region or AVA.

On the East Coast, one might identify Finger Lakes wineries and the wines that they produce with such grape varieties as Riesling or Cabernet Franc.  Or, a visitor to Central Virginial might identify that area with the Viognier grape.  Or, a region may be known for its Bordeaux-like red blends, or its cooler climate grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

For this coming Wine Wednesday, select a wine region or a winery that you have visited whose representative wines you particularly enjoyed.  Secure a bottle of the wine that you would like to showcase during this coming Wine Wednesday and join us at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Eastern/New York time.
