Wine Wednesday ~ Pinot Noir

Our next Wine Wednesday takes place on May 26th at 7:00 p.m. Eastern/New York time, and focuses on Pinot Noir, the red grape whose clusters loosely approximate the shape of a pinecone (the name is derived from the French words for pine and black).  This difficult-to-grow cool climate grape gives winegrowers fits; but, as a result of their persistent efforts, Pinot Noir wine has become the world’s most popular light-bodied red wine.

The sensory characteristics of Pinot Noir are rather diverse, depending on the terroir in which it is grown, and those winegrowing regions span the globe.  So, whether you prefer Pinot Noir from its native France, or Oregon, or New Zealand, or Germany, or wherever, pick up a bottle of your favorite representative Pinot Noir and join us next Wednesday, May 26th at 7:00 p.m. Eastern/New York time, to enjoy some entertaining comparisons of this amazing wine!
