The 20th PA Wine Excellence Awards Event – SOLD OUT

The event on January 29th is actually a celebration. Not only will you be tasting the top eleven Pennsylvania wines as judged by our PA Wine Society panel, but we will be doing this for the 20th time. I still remember the beginning – dedicated, excited, hesitant, hopeful. We experienced all of those emotions as we sought to recognize and encourage the Pennsylvania wine industry.
The changes and improvements over 20 years have been remarkable. I know you will want to try the current top ten. While you taste you will hear from winery representatives who will talk about how the wines were produced and perhaps refer to the development of their wines over those 20 years.
We honor the top scoring wine with a beautiful plaque that the winery can display until next year, and then awarding the runner up wine with a framed document for display. The runner up will be the top scoring wine from the opposite color of grapes. For instance, if a red is the top winner, the runner up will be the top scoring wine made from white grapes.
A list of the top eleven wines (in alphabetical order) follows. Yes, eleven versus ten this year as there were tied scores. I know you will want to join us for this event at the Harrisburg Hilton on Sunday, January 29th at 2 p.m. when we reveal the top wine and celebrate each of these wines with the winery teams.
