Oh Là Là! Vin Français!
We’re back in France and we’re touring all four corners and places in between with Sunil Khanna from Hand Picked Selections on Friday, November 6th , 7 p.m. at the Hilton Harrisburg.
We’re visiting key wine-growing regions—Champagne, Burgundy, Loire, and the Southern Rhône Valley; and will also delve into lesser-known areas like Savoie in the French Alps.
Our event will feature selections from seven French grape-growing regions that boast wines used as benchmarks worldwide. We’ll sample whites, rosés and reds including a grower Champagne and an iconic Pegau Château Neuf du Pape. Pegau is famed for its old school and classic profile. This one is described by critics as—
“A big, rich, opulent wine with exotic red and black fruits, garrigue, saddle leather, and spice. It’s full-bodied, round, supple, and sexy.”
Oh là là! Takes your breath away. This special evening is not to be missed!
Food Pairings
There are so many good options to choose from in French style, we let Hilton Chef Justin decide because we know his creations are always très bon! Our three plates line-up is:
- “Croque Monsieur” —Gruyere Gougere, Smoked Pit Ham, Dijon Crème, and Cornichon
- Grilled Oyster Mushrooms, Frisee, Duck Confit, and Lemon Tarragon Oil
- Grilled Lamb Tagine Skewer with Chimichurri

About Our Speaker
Sunil Khanna is the Managing Partner of Hand Picked Selections, a national importer of artisanal wines from family-owned estates and independent winemakers in France.
Sunil grew up in upstate NY, and was exposed the joys of French food, wine and culture from a very early age through his Lyonnaise mother, and spending time with his family in France.
He has worked in imports his entire professional career, and after 14+ years at HPS, bought out the founder and owner, Dan Kravitz in 2021. Veteran members will recall our wonderful tastings with Dan in past decades.
Sunil graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Applied Economics, and he holds a WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines. He resides with his family in Washington DC.
