DESCRIPTION:Wines from the Rhine and Mosel River Valleys   by Marty Cook \n \nThe German wine industry marches to the beat of a different drum. Their wine classifications\, wine styles and intimidating wine labels with lots of words sporting umlauts over various vowels can be confusing at best. But\, the industry has a very long and rich tradition stemming back to the days of the Roman Empire and their wines are delicious and memorable. \nOne of the most salient features of the German wine industry are the river valleys where the vineyards grow. The water from the rivers warms the vines during harsh winters and keeps the grapes cool during summer nights. Two of the most prominent river valleys are the Rhine and the Mosel\, which bring us many popular wines where the principal grape is Riesling. This grape is used to make a number of exciting\, crisp\, citrusy white wines that range from dry to sweet. \nWant to explore some of these new and exciting wines?
