DESCRIPTION:We kick off a New Year of Wine Wednesday on January 5th\, 2022\, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern/New York Time with a discussion of one of my favorite wine regions\, that being the region of Alsace\, France. \nAlsace is a land of rich historic background that marries both French and German culture to present the best of two worlds. Alsace produces many incredible white wines and one allowable red wine. A cooler climate region that once resided within the boundaries of Germany\, this multi-cultural area is now part of France by virtue of the spoils of the First World War. Yet\, Alsace has a distinctively German flavor in its foods\, wines\, customs and architecture. \nThe Alsace wine region is renowned for its wonderful white wines\, such as Riesling\, Sylvaner\, Pinot Blanc\, and Gewürztraminer and its one allowable red wine\, Pinot Noir. This region is also home to many long-time wine producers that have endured through the ages in spite of international conflicts. \nPlease join us for Wine Wednesday on January 5th\, 2022\, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern/New York Time with a bottle of your favorite Alsatian wine.
